earlobe reduction
WHAT IS IT?
Over time, earlobes can stretch out; this can be worsened by wearing heavy earrings for long periods of time. For those who have long earlobes, patients may choose to undergo surgery to reduce the size of their earlobes.
TYPES OF INCISIONS
The incision is typically vertical through the earlobe, however it also may course along the bottom of the earlobe. These blend in very well over time.
PROCEDURE
The procedure generally takes 1 hour in the office under local anesthesia.
HEALING
Suggested time off work: 0 days
Walking: Walking is started on the same day as surgery
Exercise: Full exercise can be started 5 days after surgery
Other: Your ears may be re-pierced 6 weeks after the procedure.
