Thigh Lift
WHAT IS IT?
A thigh lift surgery can completely alter the contour of the thigh by removing both excess fat and sagging skin from the thigh that creates an undesirable silhouette, and sculpting the thigh area so that it is far slimmer. This procedure is ideal for patients who have excess skin or tissue on their thighs.
TYPES OF THIGH LIFTS
STANDARD THIGH LIFT
A standard thigh lift is an excellent choice for patients who have excess skin from their groin to their knees. Removal of this skin is performed with an incision from the groin, along the leg, down towards the knee. This reduces circumference of the inner thigh, creating a more lean appearance. The length of the scar depends on how much skin needs to be removed. The scar is positioned so it is not readily seen.
HIDDEN SCAR THIGH LIFT
A hidden scar thigh lift is ideal for patients who have minimal to moderate excess skin in the groin “thigh gap” area. The incision for this procedure is hidden within the groin crease.
PROCEDURE
The surgery lasts approximately 2.5 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
HEALING
Suggested time off work: 10 days
Walking: Walking is started on the same day as surgery
Exercise: Light exercise can be started 14 days after surgery
Other: A compression garment is worn to provide some compression of the upper thigh area, for approximately 2 weeks - it can be removed for showers
