A chin implant can be used to provide more projection of the chin, and improve the overall harmony and balance of the face. This procedure is often combined with other facial plastic surgery procedures such as facelift for an enhanced result. Contact Dr. Eberlin to learn more.
The implant is placed through either an incision inside the mouth or a small incision underneath the chin, both of which result in a well-hidden scar.
Chin augmentation requires requires IV sedation and local anesthetic. It takes approximately 1.5 hours. A micro screw is used to fasten the implant in place; this prevents any unwanted movement and ensures an excellent result.
